Transport Consultation - Galloway Road Prohibition of Waiting Experimental Traffic Regulation Order

Notice is herby given that on the 20 December 2021, the Council made The Borough Council of Gateshead (Galloway Road)(Prohibiton of Waiting) Traffic Regulation Order 2021.

The effect of the order will come into force on the 5 January 2022.  A copy of the sealed order and notice of making can be found below.

 

Notice is hereby given that on the 23 June 2021 the Council has made The Borough Council of Gateshead (Galloway Road)(Prohibition of Waiting) Experimental Traffic Regulation Order 2021.


The effect of the Order will be to:

Amend The Borough Council of Gateshead (Galloway Road and Cowpath Gardens/Croxdale Terrace Back, Pelaw) (No Waiting At Any Time) Traffic Regulation Order 2015 for the duration of this order to introduce a prohibition of waiting at any time along Galloway Road (i) North east (a) From its junction with Shields Road from Heworth Roundabout to Victoria Road West to its junction with Lauder Way Galloway Road (i) South west (a) From its junction with Shields Road from Heworth Roundabout to Victoria Road West in a south easterly direction for 94 metres, inclusive of junction radii Lyons Court  (i) Both (a) From its junction with Galloway Road in a south westerly direction for 10 metres Cowpath Gardens/Croxdale Terrace Back (i) East (a) From its junction with Shields Road from Heworth Roundabout to Victoria Road West in a northerly direction for 29 metres.

The reason for making the Order is to introduce restrictions to address inconsiderate and dangerous parking occurring on Galloway Road and surrounding streets which causes significant congestion issues and blocks footways
