Transport Consultation - Town Centre and Gateshead Off Street Car Parks
NOTICE is hereby given that the Borough Council of Gateshead
proposes to make 'THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF GATESHEAD (GATESHEAD TOWN CENTRE
OFF-STREET CAR PARKS AND GATESHEAD OFF-STREET CAR PARKS) (AMENDMENT NO 4)
TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2016.
The effect of the proposed Order
will be to:
- Provide an additional 20 pay and display parking spaces in Civic Centre Car Park A, and remove 38 permit parking spaces within Civic Centre Car Park B, due to an increase in demand for public parking at the Civic Centre;
- Remove the Back High Street / Back Jackson Street Car Park from the Borough Council of Gateshead (Off-Street Parking Places Gateshead) Consolidation Order 2009, as it is no longer a pay and display off-street car park;
- Introduce the option of Seasonal Permits to only be operational on specified days of the week at the cost specified per day, per annum, in the car parks listed in the Schedule below.
- Introduce enforcement of unauthorised vehicles parking in “restricted areas”, such as in front of access points and emergency exits, within the Council’s off-street car parks.
