Transport Consultation - Hillgate South Shore Road Area

Notice is hereby given that the Borough Council of Gateshead proposes to make THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF GATESHEAD (HILLGATE / SOUTH SHORE ROAD AREA) (BALTIC CYCLE SCHEME PHASE 1) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2016.

The proposed order will:

1) Replace the existing pedestrian zone on South Shore Road with a bus and cycle only lane.

2) Remove 4 disabled parking bays from the South Shore Road car park to create a vehicle passing place so vehicles can enter and exit the car park at the same point.

3) To remove the existing taxi bay on the south side of South Shore Road and replace it with a disabled parking place with a capacity for 4 vehicles to park there.
