North East Combined Authority and Proposed North of Tyne Devolution (and Public Consultation Event)

Currently, Gateshead Council is one of seven north east councils that make up the North East Combined Authority (NECA). Through NECA, the councils work together in partnership to manage economic development, regeneration and transport matters. However, in November the three North of Tyne Authorities agreed a 'minded-to' devolution deal with Government. This would require Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland councils to come out of the existing NECA. This consultation explains these changes and seeks your views.
