Transport Consultation - A694 Speed Limit & Rowlands Gill 20mph Zone, Crossing & Road Humps
Notice is hereby given that the Council proposes to make a traffic order introducing restricted speed limits, traffic calming, road humps and a pedestrian controlled crossing in Rowlands Gill.
Notice is hereby given that on the 27th March 2019, The Borough Council of Gateshead made THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF GATESHEAD (ROWLANDS GILL AREA) (SPEED LIMITS) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2019.
The Order will come into operation on 8th April 2019. A copy of the Sealed Order and Notice of Making can be found below.
The proposed Order will
- Introduce a 20mph zone along the lengths of road listed in Schedule 1 which excludes the A694 Station Road.
- Reduce the national speed limit to 40mph on a section of the A694 Linzford Road from a point 22 metres south west of its junction with Holmewood Drive in a generally south westerly direction to the Borough boundary for a distance of 1500 metres.

A traffic light controlled pedestrian crossing and road humps are also being proposed.
