Revised Exemplar Neighbourhood Masterplan and Supplementary Planning Document

The Council consulted on a Masterplan and Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) for Exemplar Neighbourhood early in 2022. Exemplar neighbourhood is a major redevelopment proposal close to Gateshead town centre which will create hundreds of new homes on brownfield land. Taking on board comments made in the last consultation, we have now revised the document.

Changes made include the addition of Secured by Design Guidance, and clarification about how viability or site specific issues may be accommodated.

Comments are welcomed on this revised version of the Masterplan and SPD. You can view the Masterplan and SPD on the Council's website or by prior appointment at Gateshead Civic Centre (Monday to Friday 8.45am to 4.30pm). Please note, to view a paper version of the document at the Civic Centre an appointment must be made in advance.
