There is a huge extreme sports and action sports scene in the northeast and we don't have many places to practice. These sports keep children off the streets and gives people of all ages something to focus on aswell as keeping fit and active. The area is really deprived of skateparks and action sport environments and the parks that are available are now old (exhibition park etc) and damaged. Other councils in the country have opened public parks that are alot better then what we have, so why haven't we got it? North Tyneside council paid a company called gravity to build a skatepark in North Shields. So why can we have it? we need our space to practice and keep fit. So why can't we have it?
