I would like to petition for residents/permit holders only parking on Alverstone Avenue.
Many families have multiple cars per household. Driveways often hold only one car and garages are used for other things or just don’t accommodate a car. Many families use their driveways and also need at least one parking space outside their homes, and most of us park our vehicles on the street because pulling our vehicles in and out of our drives - or God forbid our garages - is impractical or sometimes impossible.
Many a time I have popped out for five minutes, to pick up something for my elderly and infirm mother, whom I care for full time, and have come home to find two cars parked outside my house. This kind of occurrence is becoming more frequent and intolerable.
The petition did not reach the minimum number of signatures required to be debated at Council or be considered at an overview and scrutiny panel.
